About EKHPC

The Eastern Kentucky Healthcare Preparedness Coalition meets to discuss and develop an all-hazards approach to emergencies. These disaster situations may include tornadoes, floods, power outages, pandemic flu, chemical attack and/or spills, and other national or regional events that affect healthcare organizations' operations, including hospitals and nursing facilities. EKHPC members include regional and local emergency managers, hospital management, health planners, and representatives from mental health, long-term care, emergency medical services, Veterans Administration, and fire service, among others.

Training & Exercises

EKHPC offers and hosts training needed to improve regional capabilities and to continue to provide education for key preparedness and response personnel in our region.

Membership

There is no cost to being a member, and we would love to have you as a part of our team! As a member of the EKHPC coalition, your facility has the ability to borrow and house coalition assets. For more information, have a representative from your organization or agency contact Steven Little, EKHPC Coordinator.

Our Purpose

  • To coordinate and improve the delivery of healthcare emergency response services.
  • To foster communication between local, regional, and state entities on community-wide emergency planning and response.
  • To provide a forum for the healthcare community to network with one another and other response agencies at a county, regional, and state level to promote emergency preparedness.
  • To ensure overall readiness through coordination of community-wide training and exercises.
  • To promote preparedness in the healthcare community through standardized practices and integration with other response partners.
